WM - Wilmersdorfer Meisterschaften

Soccer Tournament 4th June 2014

This Soccer Tournament was organized by Ms Sporleder. It was a 'World Cup Tournament'. Comenius School and Peter-Jordan School were the participants. We played together with class ASP 3b. The country we represented was Croatia. We played in groups and the winner of each group played against the other winner. We won the final match of the tournament. It was Craotia vs Greece. We got the Golden Cup.

In the end we played a match against the teachers. We lost 3:2. Everybody played fair and the referees were fair, too. After the tournament we went to an ice-cream parlour. The ice-cream was awsome. We went back to school. And we were so tired.

The football match

On Wednesday the 4th of June at 9 o'clock we went to the football tournament. We walked over to the footballfield of the 1st FC Wilmersdorf in the Volkspark. Each team represented one football nation, we were Croatia. First we played versus USA, we won 8:0! When somebody of our team scored a goal, we waved little Croatian flags which Ms Moebius had given to us. The next match was against Belgium. It was also successful. The score was 9:0 for Croatia. But then Croatia vs Spain - that was very difficult for our team.... But we won 3:1. Now we were in the final match against Greece! If we won this we would be the champions of the whole tournament. And our team won 5:2. We were the winners. We were so happy! We, our Croatian team!

"And the winner is.... the team from Croatia!", said Ms Sporleder in the award ceremony. I'll never forget these words. When Florian hold the cup in his hands I couldn't believe it. Croatia, I thought all the time, Croatia, is it real? Like we were the winner of a world cup.

At 12 o'clock we went to the ice-cream parlour. Most of us had Tropical ice-cream. Only Ms Ladies-Ironmountain had Fürst-Pückler ice-cream. It was deep-frozen and broke into pieces and fell down. Ms Ladies-Ironmountain was very angry. But the stupid shop assistant told her that it is totally normal for this type of ice-cream. And we all know it is not!

Finally we went back to school and we could go home then.

World-Championship at Comenius

Some voices from the classes

I'm not a footballer myself. But I am a fan who likes to cheer for my team.

We won against the other groups but lost against the teachers/adults. The cup is very big and pretty. I'm so proud of our team. We are the winners!

Emily, ASP 3b

When Ms Munkelberg said something about a football tournament my football senses started ringing. I asked myself why nobody had asked us to join.

Vincent, ASP 3b

For a very long time already Vincent had talked about the football match at Comenius School vs Peter-Jordan-School. Then he asked me and some others to join the team.

Robert, ASP 3b
